Short answer: it may be possible to get an online loan to a bank card with a poor credit history in Ukraine, but guaranteed-approval loans do not exist. A bank, credit union, or finance company must assess the risk and may reject an application. The best order of action is to check your credit history, identify the cause of the problem, approach the bank that receives your income first, and consider an MFI offer only for a small amount when you know the exact date on which you can repay it.
Last updated on 11 September 2026. The information was checked against the Law of Ukraine on Consumer Lending, guidance from the National Bank of Ukraine, and information from the Ukrainian Bureau of Credit Histories. ZIND does not issue loans or make lending decisions.
Do no-refusal online loans actually exist?
No, if “no refusal” is meant as a 100% guarantee. A legitimate lender checks the applicant’s identity, ability to pay, and credit risk. Even an automated system can reject an application within seconds. Claims such as “loan without refusal,” “100% approval,” or “money for everyone” should therefore be treated as advertising rather than a contractual term.
It is more accurate to talk about lenders with less restrictive criteria. Non-bank finance companies often consider smaller applications, request fewer documents, and make decisions faster than banks. Borrowers usually pay for that accessibility through a substantially higher interest rate.
Credit history is only one part of the assessment. The decision may also be affected by current debt commitments, verified or regular income, active arrears, the accuracy of the application, age, ownership of the payment card, and the lender’s internal rules. Two lenders can reach different decisions on the same application.
Where to get a loan with bad credit: six realistic options
None of the options below comes with a promise of approval. They are possible routes to assess in light of their cost, risk, and your own circumstances.
| Option | When it may make sense | Potential advantage | Main risk or disadvantage |
|---|---|---|---|
| The bank that receives your salary or other regular income | You have stable incoming payments and old arrears have already been settled | The bank can see your cash flow; a small loan or card limit may cost less than an MFI loan | The chance of rejection remains high if you have active arrears or heavy debt commitments |
| A standard bank consumer loan | You need a larger amount for several months and have income that can cover monthly payments | It is usually less expensive than a short-term online loan | Stricter scoring; fees may substantially increase the real annual percentage rate |
| A licensed non-bank finance company or MFI | You need a small sum for a short period and already know when you can repay it in full | A quick online application and sometimes more tolerance of old late payments | A high daily and real annual rate; repeated extensions can become an expensive cycle |
| A credit union | You can undergo an individual assessment and provide information about your income | The assessment may be less automated | Membership, an in-person visit, a guarantor, or additional documents may be required |
| A secured loan | You own suitable property, need money urgently, and fully understand the risk of losing the collateral | Credit history may carry less weight | You could lose the asset if you fail to repay; collateral is often valued below its market price |
| Restructuring an existing debt | You only need new money to repay an existing loan | It may reduce the monthly payment without creating another debt | The lender does not have to accept every proposed arrangement; the total term and cost may increase |
What if you own cryptocurrency?
Someone who already owns liquid cryptocurrency may consider borrowing against digital assets. This does not repair a credit history and it is not a risk-free substitute for a bank loan: the collateral may be liquidated if its price falls. Platform fees, conversion rates, and the legal status of the transaction also matter. ZIND explains this mechanism separately in its guide to crypto-backed loans in Ukraine. If you do not already own cryptocurrency, buying it with borrowed money solely to use it as collateral is not a sensible route.
What to do before applying: a practical process
Step 1. Define the exact amount and source of repayment
“I need 10,000 UAH until my salary arrives on 25 September” is more useful than “I urgently need money.” Account for the date your income will arrive, essential expenses due before that date, and the amount left afterwards. If repayment will require another loan, the proposed credit is not solving the underlying problem.
Step 2. Check your credit history before making new applications
The Ukrainian Bureau of Credit Histories explains that a credit report shows the information available to a potential lender. You can obtain your own credit history free of charge once a year through the UBCH website. Check:
- whether there is an active balance that you believed had been settled;
- whether payment amounts and dates are recorded correctly;
- whether there is a loan that you did not take out;
- which late payments remain in the report after repayment.
An incorrect entry should be disputed through the bureau and lender, not covered with another loan. If you find an unfamiliar loan, notify the lender, file a dispute with the bureau, and contact the police.
Step 3. Start with the least expensive channel
Check whether you have an available limit at the bank that regularly receives your income. Then compare standard bank products. Only after that should you assess short-term loans from finance companies. The order matters: the speed of an MFI does not offset the extra cost.
Step 4. Do not submit dozens of applications at once
Numerous enquiries within a short period may look like a sign of acute financial distress. Rushing also makes it harder to read the terms. Select one or two offers after checking them instead of completing a form on every website on the first page of search results.
Step 5. Request only the amount you actually need
A smaller sum over a short but realistic period reduces the absolute cost. Do not choose an unrealistically short term just to get an attractive figure in the calculator. A single late day can derail the plan and create another negative record.
Step 6. Complete the application consistently and accurately
Provide a current phone number, address, employment details, and your real income. Use your own active bank card to receive the funds. Mistakes or false information do not “improve scoring”; they may become an independent reason for rejection.
Why a lender may reject you despite advertising fast approval
Lenders do not have to disclose the full logic of their scoring models. A rejection is often caused by a combination of factors rather than a single issue:
- an active overdue balance or several outstanding loans;
- existing debt payments already consume a significant share of income;
- income is irregular or insufficient for the requested amount;
- the application contains errors, inconsistencies, or outdated information;
- the card does not belong to the applicant, has expired, or fails verification;
- many credit applications were submitted within a short period;
- age, place of residence, or another parameter falls outside the product rules;
- the lender’s internal policy prevents approval even though another institution might decide differently.
Can you improve a credit history quickly?
Accurate records of late payments cannot be erased instantly. An offer to “clean your credit history for a fee” is a warning sign. The genuine route takes longer: correct errors, repay or restructure debts, avoid new late payments, and retain proof that agreements have been closed.
Do not take an expensive microloan merely to “raise your score.” Repaying it on time may eventually add a positive record, but the new application and debt obligation will also be considered. There is no guaranteed financial benefit to this experiment.
What an urgent online loan really costs
Do not compare offers by the advertised “from 0.01%” rate. Compare four figures in the consumer loan passport and contract:
- the amount you will actually receive;
- the total amount repayable;
- the daily interest rate;
- the real annual percentage rate, including mandatory costs.
Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine on Consumer Lending sets a maximum daily interest rate of 1% of the total loan amount. The cap covers the overall costs of consumer credit, not merely the number described as “interest” in an advert. The NBU has already taken enforcement action over breaches of this requirement, so checking the calculation yourself has practical value.
| Daily rate | Cost over 30 days | Total repayment |
|---|---|---|
| 0.01% per day | 30 UAH | 10,030 UAH |
| 0.5% per day | 1,500 UAH | 11,500 UAH |
| 1% per day | 3,000 UAH | 13,000 UAH |
Calculation: loan amount × daily rate × number of days. This is a simplified illustration assuming that the rate applies throughout the term and that there are no late payments or additional charges. Use the figures in your personalised loan passport, contract, and payment schedule for the final calculation.
Why a “first loan at 0.01%” may cost more
A promotional rate may apply only to a particular amount, a new customer, a limited number of days, or if the debt is repaid in full on time. Check what happens after the promotion ends, when the term is extended, and if a payment is late. Review paid add-on services, insurance, transfer fees, and repayment methods separately.
A simple test: if you cannot state in one sentence how much you will receive, the exact payment date, and the total amount due, it is too early to sign the agreement.
How to check an MFI, bank, or credit union before sharing documents
1. Find the legal entity in the NBU register
Do not rely on a logo or website name. Find the company’s full legal name and EDRPOU code in the website footer, contract, or disclosure section. Then look up the institution in the registers and lists of the National Bank of Ukraine. For a non-bank lender, it is not enough that the company exists: it should also hold a current authorisation to provide funds and bank metals on credit.
2. Match the domain to the institution’s details
Fraudsters can copy the name of a known company. Check whether the website belongs to the legal entity in the register, whether the contact details match, and whether it uses a secure HTTPS connection. Do not open an application through an unsolicited promotional message; navigate to the official domain yourself.
3. Do not pay upfront for an “approval guarantee”
A request to transfer money to an individual’s card for activation, a security deposit, a rating improvement, or guaranteed approval is typical of fraud. It is particularly dangerous to disclose a PIN, CVV, online-banking password, SMS code, or to ask another person to complete identification on your behalf.
4. Download the documents before signing
The lender must provide a consumer loan passport before the agreement is concluded. Save the passport, offer, individual section of the agreement, payment schedule, and confirmation of the electronic signature. Read the personalised terms: the calculator on the home page may show only a promotional example.
5. Answer seven control questions
- How much will be credited to the card?
- How much must be repaid in total if every payment is on time?
- What are the daily rate and real annual percentage rate?
- Are there mandatory add-on services or fees?
- What is charged if a payment is late?
- What does an extension cost, and does that payment reduce the principal?
- How can you obtain confirmation that the loan has been fully closed?
What to do when bad credit is caused by an active overdue balance
Taking a new expensive loan to close an old one is among the riskiest scenarios. The debt does not disappear; it moves to another lender, often at a higher cost. If the new loan does not reduce both the rate and monthly payment, it is not refinancing. It is only postponing the problem.
- Document the debt. Ask the lender for a breakdown showing the principal, interest, fees, fines, and penalties separately.
- Write to the lender instead of relying only on phone calls. Propose an affordable schedule, restructuring, a changed payment date, or an agreed fixed amount. Keep the correspondence.
- Do not promise a payment you cannot make. A smaller realistic amount and date is more useful.
- Check any new creditor or debt collection company. Ask for the legal basis of the contact, the name of the original lender, and an itemised balance.
- Challenge misconduct. File a written complaint with the financial institution first. If the issue is not resolved, contact the NBU. For legal guidance, Ukraine’s Free Legal Aid system can be reached at 0 800 213 103.
Ignoring messages does not stop charges from accruing, but pressure does not remove your legal rights. Do not accept an unexplained amount verbally. Request documents and a calculation.
Borrower rights in Ukraine
The main rules are set by the Law of Ukraine on Consumer Lending, No. 1734-VIII. The following provisions are particularly useful when checking a contract:
- Pre-contract information. The lender provides a consumer loan passport free of charge so that offers can be compared.
- Daily-rate cap. The maximum daily interest rate may not exceed 1%.
- No undisclosed payments. A lender cannot demand payments that are absent from the agreement or have not been included as required by law.
- Early repayment. A consumer may repay all or part of the loan early without an additional charge connected to early repayment. The agreement may require advance notice.
- Withdrawal from the agreement. Where the law applies, a consumer may withdraw within 14 calendar days without giving a reason. The lender must be notified in writing, and the borrower must return the funds received plus interest for the actual period of use. Certain agreements are excluded.
The daily-rate restriction was introduced by Law of Ukraine No. 3498-IX. In February 2025, the NBU reported taking enforcement action against a finance company for breaching the microcredit rate cap. The existence of the law therefore does not remove the need to verify the numbers in your own agreement.
When an online loan may be reasonable—and when to stop
A situation in which a small loan may be reasonable
There is a one-off urgent expense, the amount is clearly defined, income will arrive on a known date, and enough will remain after essential expenses to repay the loan in full. You have compared at least two offers, checked the lender, and can see the final amount repayable.
A situation in which another loan is likely to make matters worse
The money is needed to pay another expensive loan, there is no identified source of repayment, the term is being chosen at random, and the plan depends on a future extension. At this point, stop submitting new applications and ask the existing lender about restructuring.
A situation that looks like fraud
An unknown “broker” guarantees approval after an advance payment, asks for an SMS code or online-banking login details, wants you to install remote-access software, or requests an “insurance payment” to a personal card. End the conversation and contact your bank if you have already disclosed payment information.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get a loan if every lender rejects me?
Do not begin by searching for yet another website. Obtain your credit report and check for active debts and errors. If there is an overdue balance, ask the current lender about restructuring. After correcting the data or settling the debt, start with the bank that receives your income. No company can legitimately guarantee approval in advance.
Do Ukrainian MFIs lend to people with very bad credit?
Some finance companies use less restrictive assessment models than banks and may approve small amounts after old late payments. An active debt, low income, or heavy commitments can still cause a rejection. A less restrictive assessment often comes with a higher price.
Can I get a loan while another debt is overdue?
An individual lender may technically accept the application, but the likelihood is lower and the risk of a debt spiral is higher. If the purpose of the new loan is to pay an old one, request restructuring and an exact balance calculation first.
Can I get a loan without a credit-history check?
“No credit check” does not mean there is no risk assessment. A lender may use its own scoring model, application data, and identification results in addition to credit-bureau information. A completely anonymous loan to a bank card is not normal practice in the legitimate market.
Can the loan be paid to someone else’s card?
An online loan should be paid to a card belonging to the borrower. An offer to arrange credit using another person’s documents or to transfer the money to a third party’s card creates a risk of fraud and a dispute over receipt of the funds.
How quickly will the money reach the card?
An automated decision may take only a few minutes, but that does not guarantee the transfer time. Timing depends on document checks, the lender, the card-issuing bank, and the payment system. A “24/7 application” does not necessarily mean that manual support is immediately available at night.
What is the maximum legal rate for a microloan in Ukraine?
The maximum daily interest rate on consumer credit may not exceed 1%. It is calculated using the total cost of credit under the formula established by law. Check the real annual percentage rate and total amount repayable as well.
Will bad credit records be deleted after repayment?
Repayment ends the active arrears, but accurate historical information does not disappear immediately. You can demand a correction if a record is wrong or a loan was obtained fraudulently. After final settlement, obtain confirmation that no balance remains and check that your report has been updated.
Should I apply to many MFIs at the same time?
No. This increases the risk of mistakes, disclosure of personal data to questionable intermediaries, and an expensive decision made under pressure. Frequent credit enquiries may also be considered during assessment. Compare the terms first and then select one or two verified institutions.
